Prayers & support for Christians - because the hard times will get harder.
Here we are told that people will react to us
as Christians as they did to Jesus. If they loved Him they will love us also. God has always had His enemies who have battled against Him and His followers since time began.
External Articles
How many times, lately, are we seeing people, including our so called Christian leaders, championing a cause that God just does not agree with? Here the article goes on about the rights of gays, lesbians, etc. Rights as human beings, yes. But rights as Christans, no.
Black & White?
Matthew 6:25 - 6:34
Most of us don't have the worries mentioned in these verses, though in the time and place of Jesus, most people probably did. The thing with us today is that we aren't going hungry or cold; we have food, shelter and clothing.
Rom 3:10 - 3:18
...as Scripture says, "Not one person has God's approval.
No one understands. No one searches for God.
Everyone has turned away. Together they have become rotten to the core. No one does anything good, not even one person.
Their throats are open graves. Their tongues practice deception. Their lips hide the venom of poisonous snakes.
Their mouths are full of curses and bitter resentment.
They run quickly to murder people.
There is ruin and suffering wherever they go.
They have not learned to live in peace.
They are not terrified of God."
No one is good enough to know God. Even if we try our hardest for just one day, we would commit uncountable sins in our heart. Thank God for Jesus and God's indescribable mercy!
Happy are those who are persecuted because they do what God requires; the Kingdom of heaven belongs to them! Mat 5:10

The Word of God doesn't Mould to Society
Minister compares fight against homosexual clergy to resistance of Nazis
A minister in the Church of Scotland, Rev Ian Watson, has compared an increasingly bitter campaign against homosexual clergy to the war against the Nazis.
Remember the old Christian addage, 'Hate the sin, love the sinner'? Well that is how we should view all those who sin, as we are all guilty of that! We should be tolerent and non-judgemental. However, just because society is becoming increasingly tolerent of what was once considered illegal or immoral and is condemned in God's own words, we should not be accepting of such practices in our faith.
The Bible or Society
Which to Follow?
Jesus did not instruct us to be quiet about our faith. He did not say ‘Go but do not preach of me. Whatever you do, hide my glory from all men lest you unsettle those of alternative dispositions.’ Luk 8:16 "No one lights a lamp and covers it with a bowl or puts it under a bed. Instead, it is put on the lampstand, so that people will see the light as they come in.
He called us to go and spread the word of God.
In the last statement quoted by Tony Blair at the bottom of this report, he pretty much sums up the whole point : "When people quote the passages in Leviticus condemning homosexuality, I say to them – if you read the whole of the Old Testament and took everything that was there in a literal way, as being what God and religion is about, you'd have some pretty tough policies across the whole of the piece."
New Enemy
Side by Side Faiths
Atheists, humanist and champions of secular issues have grouped together to attack religion and Christianity inparticular. Now if anyone wants to deny God that is entirely an individual choice. Closing ranks and recruiting foot soldiers to go on a crusade to attempt to force people to become atheists is ridiculous.
Without forgiveness of our sins through Jesus, we would never live forever in paradise, so welcoming the building of places of worship that promote other faiths whose paths lead away from God, seems greatly misplaced.

Jesus the Spin Doctor
The Bishop of Rochester, Michael Nazir-Ali Speaks to us his final parting words has he heads off into the reality of true Christianity. Behind him, he fires a well deserved parting shot, full of wisdom and warning.
True Evangelism
The BNP has recruited Jesus as their spin doctor according to the article below. Now the BNP has somewhat of a black reputation. This review is not interested in arguing whether that reputation is warranted; none of us, I'm sure, has the definitive 'lowdown' on this party's true manifesto.

Accelerating Oppression
Missing the Point
Here is another rediculous situation where someone has voiced his personal opinion on a subject during a private conversation and been punished for doing so.
Firstly, everyone is entitled to an opinion. Opinions are points of view; how an individual sees a situation and how they feel about it because of who they are as a person. Not everyone has the same opinions.
What did Jesus tell us to do in His name? Spread the Good News. Isn't that what school assemblies do? Why are they antiquated? This is another case of fitting religion into our way of life and not the other way around. For those of us who know the absolute truth, we despair. Christianity it seems has no place in public life.

"Father," he prayed, "my Father! All things are possible for you. Take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet not what I want, but what you want."
Even Jesus didn't relish the pain - yet accepted that it was part of what needed to happen.

God blesses those who are persecuted for doing right, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.
Ponder & Pray
What is Jesus' answer to persecution? What does He say to do about it? Does He give us a way to deal with it? A way to prevent it, to stop it in its tracks? Is there a way to fight it? Let's ask Him.
Matthew 5:11
“God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers.
